This “Bahá’í Festival of Unity” will feature the screening of the film “Dawn of the Light” at 7:30 pm. This film follows the personal search for truth and meaning undertaken by eight people from different parts of the world. Each one describes the journey to discovering that God has sent two Divine Manifestations for today, the Báb and Bahá’u’lláh, Who are revolutionizing human thought and behavior.
The Birth of the Báb marks one of the happiest and most festive celebrations for Bahá’is worldwide. Millions of people around the world will be commemorating the 200th anniversary of His birth and the Des Moines Bahá’í community is delighted to invite friends, neighbors and the public at large to come and partake in this momentous celebration!
The Báb, whose title means “the Gate,” was a Messenger of God who called for the spiritual and moral regeneration of all of humanity. His mission was to prepare the way for the coming of yet another Messenger of God who would usher in a new era of peace promised in all the world religions. Bahá’ís recognize this latter Manifestation to be Bahá’u’lláh.
Refreshments will be served, information about the Bahá’í Faith will be available, and local members of the Bahá’í Faith will be present to answer questions about their religion.
